Xisco Campos issued a capitan’s message to fans following our relegation to the Segunda División at the hands of a 2-1 loss to Granada CF. Speaking to journalists after a tough evening, the defender shared his initial reaction, reflected on the season and looked to the future.
On the relegation...
“It was a day we never wanted to come. The team has given everything. It was complicated year in a very complicated division. We’re devastated, this was not what we wanted.
“In spite of everything, I’m very proud of having formed a part of this team. In the end it was not meant to be and you know how to lose, rebuild and come back stronger.”
On a message to the fans...
“We can only give our thanks to fans. They have always been there for us. Not long ago we were in Segunda B and they were there. Now, from a distance, they have been with us. We have one game left to defend this badge. Sport always gives you another chance and we keep fighting.”
