Vicente Moreno: ‘Everything went very well and we’ve been successful’

The boss reflected on an important three points against Valencia CF in his post-match press conference

Vicente Moreno couldn’t hide his delight as we beat Valencia CF 4-1 in our first game back at Son Moix this year. Read what the boss had to say about the game, Ante Budimir’s goals and our upcoming Copa del Rey tie below:

On the game…

“Everything went very well and even more so when you play against a team just as complicated. There have been games at home which have been similar to today but without getting the goals like we’ve done today. These three points gives us a little air but it doesn’t condition anything. When we do things right, things come out as such.

“The best thing has been the win because it’s difficult when sometimes you’re doing the things well and there’s not reward. Continuing with that has given us three points today. If we always give our all, we will always have opportunities to win. Every week we put out the eleven players that we believe will give us more options to win, we don’t toss a coin. If you throw in one player, you leave out another and it’s the same with the other players."

On Budimir and Pozo’s debut…

“Budimir is for the team. He’s a professional and he has that clear. He dedicated himself to playing and doesn’t mind if he’s playing with Cucho or he’s on his own up top. He’s always there.

“Pozo is a good player. He’s intelligent and that helps his adaptation. Being his first game, he has done well. He has done things differently, but that’s normal. When he accumulates more training sessions and games we will improve in our systems.”

On the Copa del Rey…

“Now we’re going to rest and prepare for the game on Tuesday against Real Zaragoza. We will put out the best starting XI in order to advance. We will not be doing anything different because we want to get through to the next round.”
