Vicente Moreno: “After a win all the interpretations are good”

The boss assessed our performance and the importance of three points following RCD Mallorca’s 1-0 win over Deportivo Alavés

Vicente Moreno was on press duties following our 1-0 victory over Deportivo Alavés at Son Moix on Saturday afternoon. Find out what the manager had to say about our performance, an eventful week and Leonardo Koutris’ debut:

On the game…

“The interpretation of today’s game is positive. After a win, the interpretations are always good. We needed that victory. It was difficult break through to begin with, but continuing to insist, we took the game where we wanted. After the penalty and the disallowed goal, it was difficult to recover. I’m happy for the players and the fans - like this everything is easier.

“The players have made it clear once against that they are up for the work and we have show that we are willing to give everything in order to achieve our goal.

“I didn’t think more about things in the day to day. We saw on Monday how the weekend had finished. The future now is towards the game on Friday. Every time we play there are less games, and that makes if more difficult if you don’t win.”

On the week…

“It has been a difficult week. We have tried to isolate that, and via luck or misfortune, we depended on this weekend. Today has cost us a lot, but we have been looking for this for a long time.”

On the debut of Leonardo Koutris…

“I’m happy because the three that have entered the game have done well. Koutris wasn’t able to warm up and on top of that it was his debut. We knew that he had quality, and he has shown it after an injury and has done well.”
