Vazquez: “we were unable to come back”

The managers regrets the team got knocked out of the Cup and complains about his sending off

Fernando Vazquez has met the press after getting knocked out of the Cup in the game between RCD Mallorca and UCAM Murcia and has confessed the group was enthusiastic about the competition. It is quite a let-down. "They have harmed us from corners and weren't able to come back. Maybe if we would have drawn the game before the half-time break we would have had a fighting chance. I wanted to carry on inside".

The manager explained the action that brought his red card, "it's a kick from behind, a clear yellow, and he sends me off because he says that I keep protesting. I deserve the first yellow because I walked out of the technical box but I don't understand the second one. The rules are property of the managers and players, not only the referees'".

Vazquez highlighted, after being asked, the work of Lekic and evaluated his performance as positive. He will give us so much. He's powerful, shoots well, allows one-two passing. I'm very happy with what he did out there". The Galician praises the rest of his playing squad, "I'm very happy with the rest too. We competed well, but lacked accuracy and strentgh in the defending corners".
