Vazquez: “the point is satisfactory, but not satisfying”

The manager admits the team lacked calm in some stages of the game

Fernando Vazquez walked into press conference after the two all thriller at Nastic and said he finds the point acceptable, yet not an utterly satisfying reward as “our team is capable of playing with more presence and personality”. The manager in this light says that “it seemed like the ball was burning on our feet and we didn’t know how to control the rival on possession”.

For the Galician, it is remarkable how the team was subdued and yet able to come back twice from behind. “If any team was to be nervous it had to be them, not us. We should have used that ansiety to our advantage. But I’m travelling out of Tarragona with the impression that our team at some point was as nervous as the home side”.

“To me the table was not significant, we knew they’re a good team. With these players, manager and these fans Nastic with steer soon into safety”, guaranteed Vazquez. Our manager regretted how they couldn’t make the most of the ansiety of a bottom table side. “They have come out strong and have produced a very disputed game, rather than a technical one. We are okay with the point, but the way we conceded leaves us with something to take note of. We did make mistakes. Yet it is also true that their keeper stopped more than ours. But all in all, we didn’t not control the game.”

The manager pointed out that his intention was “to score soon, but to play away from home is not as easy as to play at home. No team plays better than in front of their own fans. We did try but they also know how to play and they didn’t allow us to produce our best football”.
