Vazquez: “judging from the way we played, we did deserve a goal”

Fernando Vazquez has met the press after the point taken in the draw versus Oviedo and has praised both the players' intensity and the play displayed. He recognized that the team could use better finishing upfront, "we are not lacking goal, but only that finishing touch. We build well, but are missing some spark. Judging from how we played, we deserved more".

The manager in this vein, pointed out that they wasted chances, "but also they did not transmit much danger. I trust my team. If we keep working this way, dominating at ease, controlling possession without conceding many occasions to the opponent, we will reach victory form".

Vazquez repeated to some journalists' questions, that to his mind, the team played compact and well. "We are doing everything well but winning. I cannot foresee scores but I am not worried by our poor scoring form. This is the Mallorca I am looking for, a very organized side and playing at high tempo. It is true however that after all the effort and not winning the team can pay for it".

The manager, on the other hand, justified his substitutions to increase more presence upfront through Brandon and Lekic and thinking that Culio and Juan Rodriguez would be able to set up these ofensive twosome without reaching the touchline.

Finally, the Galician argued that the most beautiful bit of the game has been "the recognition by the attending public. We work and play for the fans. Today, without winning, the effort has been noticed. We have to keep working for it to come better".
