Tovar Scores Twice Against Former Club As RCD Mallorca B beat Soller CF 4-0

Julián Robles' side record their second win from as many games with a comfortable victory at Son Bibiloni

Jaume Tovar scored twice against his former club as RCD Mallorca B continued their fine start to the season with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Soller CF at Son Bibiloni.

Proceedings could not have begun better for RCD Mallorca B as the striker needed just 37 seconds to open the scoring with a simple tap in. Fans were still taking their seats when David Alamo broke down the wing and pulled the ball back for Tovar, who made no mistake with the goal gaping.

Calderón then came close to doubling the hosts lead in the 19th minute when he rattled the crossbar from a free-kick 25-yards out.

The Alamo-Tovar double act would soon strike again in the 24th minute as the forward met a teasing cross with a powerful first-time finish into the bottom corner.

Calderón would eventually get his name on the scoresheet, and although unable to reach Tovar’s across-goal pass following a determined run in-behind the visitors’ defence, the No.10 made amends by collecting the loose ball and thumping home inside the six-yard-box.

Captain Hernández added a fourth on the stroke of half-time from the penalty spot after Raúl Prada’s low drive was handled in the box by Guille.

Well and truly in the ascendancy four goals to the good after the break, RCD Mallorca’s control in possession almost extended the advantage when Alamo forced Pau Segui into a good save 10 minutes into the second half.

Moments later the goalkeeper was called into action once again following an encouraging passage of play Soller CF were unable to deal with, but a fine stop denied Calderón’s rasping effort from a few yards out.

Opportunities for Raúl Parra, Joaquin Rodríguez and substitute Andreu Arasa could have extended the lead even further, but the scoreline remained unchanged come full time. A 4-0 victory leaves RCD Mallorca B top of the table with two wins from as many games, seven goals scored and zero conceded – leaving plenty for manager Julián Robles to be happy about.
