STOICHKOV: ‘I’M SO HAPPY TO BE BACK WITH THE TEAM’

The forward spoke exclusively to the club's website following his return to training having previously suffered from COVID-19

Stoichkov says he couldn’t be happier to be back among his team-mates following his recovery from COVID-19.

The forward has reunited with his team-mates for the first time having tested positive upon his return to Son Bibiloni, and succeeding an encouraging loan spell at AD Alcorcón last season, says he’s ready to get back to work.

‘I'm very happy to be with my team-mates again,” he told the club’s website. “Step by step, I'm getting back to it and getting better and better. It's not the same training at home as it is with your team-mates. The workouts are tough, but that’s normal. I'm getting better and better.

"The welcome back has been very special after suffering from COVID-19. Honestly, it was a little hard because I wanted to train and to be with my teammates. It's something that can happen to anyone and it was my turn - it's one more experience in my life. I hope none of my team-mates are infected."

The 26-year-old is currently hard at work as he gets back to match fitness and will join in full squad training shortly.
