We are in Holland. The preseason started on July 11, and the ball has not stopped rolling. Generally, they say that the preseason is not serious until the tour starts, because before that, a team does not seek and play out friendly games to prepare the team for the feature presentation.
The players have sweated, the muscles have started to ache, but now the games have arrived. The group is motivated. The time has come to start competing for positions. With excitement and hunger, the team arrived in Brussels and went to the Fitland Hotel in Sittard in the southern part of the country.
The players´ competitive attitudes and team comradery has caught the eye thus far. Some say that the principle of success is good people, and it appears that we have that here. The team tells stories and makes jokes. Yet, good spirits do not score or save goals, but it obviously contributes to the most efficiently functioning team.
And so, the team will play its first game on Saturday July 23, against Sint Truiden in the first flight of Belgian soccer. This game is the first of many and the groundwork for the season ahead.
