Salva Sevilla and Franco Russo were on media duties come full time after we beat CD Lugo 1-0 at the Estadio Anxo Carro. Recording our third consecutive victory, the pair couldn’t hide their delight as they discussed the win, performance and the squad.
On the game...
Salva Sevilla: “We knew that it was going to be a difficult stadium to come to and this win was important. The only thing that we have been missing from these sorts of games is to score the second goal and finish the game in a calmer manner. It’s very important not to concede. We have players here that can make the difference. We have to be a defensive unit and from there the chances and goals come.”
Franco Russo: “We got another clean sheet because we created chances. I’m very happy to debut with the team once again. I’m more confident and less nervous than the first time I debuted for the club two seasons ago.”
On the goal...
Salva Sevilla: “We want to be among the best. We are ambitious and going game by game. Right now we have to rest and prepare for next week’s game. Scoring goals doesn’t matter to me. The important thing is the team and that this goal serves to add more points and help the team.”
On the squad...
Franco Russo: ‘We’re all really competitive and that pushes us to be at 100%. We all work a lot to be at the highest level and if people are missing from the team it won’t be noticed.”
