Football industry represented by Atletico Madrid, LaLiga, United Professional Footballers’ Association (AFE) and companies of the likes such as Microsoft, Cisco or Telefonica all meet in October 27th and 28th for the World Football Summit. This gathering, the first to be held in our country, will last two days full of conferences and meetings about the economic and technological value of football at the Duques de Pastrana complex at the Paseo de La Habana in Madrid. |

Over 500 companies, organisms and institutions related to football will attend an event where 38 firms from 11 different countries will table proposals to improve the performance of footballers, prevent injuries, better techniques or exhibit significant breakthroughs in the economic side of this sport. The schedule will start with a round table about foreign investment into football given by Atletico Madrid chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin, RCD Mallorca chief executive Maheta Molango and LaLiga’s corporate director Javier Gomez. In a talk about about TV rights and revenue distribution, AFE president Luis Rubiales will say some words, followed by Premier League AFE-equivalent president Bobby Barnes and Joaquim Evangelista, chairing a similar institution in the Portuguese top-flight. In addition, a debate on social implications from football will be spared and for the second congress day, there will be some sessions about technology applied to football and a round table regarding the economic potencial of femenine football.
