RCD Mallorca B record 2-1 victory over CF Soller

Carlos Gilbert and Adrian Montalban scored the decisive goals away from home

Mallorca B secured their third consecutive victory with a 2-1 win over CF Soller thanks to goals from Carlos Gilbert and Adrian Montalban.

Julián Robles made one change to the side that beat CE Constancia on the previous matchday, with Jaime De Las Marina Gil selected in favour of Raul Parra.

Maintained pressure from the get-go yielded its reward for Gilbert as the attacking midfielder found himself unmarked at the back post to poke home Jaume Tovar’s cross.

The summer signing almost added a second moments later, this time creating space to rattle the bar from inside the box.

We were unfortunate to head into the break on levels as, against the run of play, Marcos Fernandez was able to make the most of a corner on the stroke of half-time.

The hosts came flying out of the blocks after the restart smelling blood, but Jesus Ruiz was on hand to deny Miquel Ramón and then Alejandro Latorre.

Despite CF Soller’s best efforts to score the decisive goal, it was Montalban who settled matters in the 84th minute when he put the finishing touch on a neatly-worked move.
