RCD Mallorca B held to 1-1 draw against CD Ibiza

Goals from Pablo Pobar and Dani Ribelles mean the points are shared as we head into the winter break

RCD Mallorca B fought back from an early goal to end 2019 with a 1-1 draw against CD Ibiza Ciudad Deportiva Antonio Asensio.

After the first defeat of the season against Felantix last week, Julián Robles included Jaime De Las Marinas Gil in place of Enric Martínez in his starting XI.

We were punished for a sluggish start as just four minutes into the opening exchanges and Pablo Pomar converted Cristian Terán’s cross.

Searching for an instant response to the setback, Jaume Tovar,  Thomas Giaquinto and substitute Dani Ribelles came close to equalising, but we headed into the break a goal down.

After the restart, the resilient defending of CD Ibiza finally succumbed to our maintained pressure as Ribelles found the bottom corner just after the hour mark.

Following the goal, Robles’ side then looked to land a killer blow but find goalkeeper from Marcos Conereras kept the scores level as we head into the winter break.

RCD Mallorca B: Jesus Ruiz, Parra, Ocaña, Gonzalez, Hernandez, Jaime De Las Marinas Gil (58’), Giaquinto, Coll, Gilbert, Montalban (36’), Tovar

Substitutes: Ribelles (36’) (81’), Enric Martínez, (58’), Arasa (81’)
