Predrag Rajković looks ahead to the World Cup

The goalkeeper spoke to club media on heading to Qatar with Serbia

Predrag Rajković is looking to spring a surprise at the World Cup.

Our goalkeeper heads to Qatar with his native Serbia in a tough group featuring Cameroon, Switzerland and Brazil, but believes he and his team-mates can have a successful tournament.

"I feel excited, like four years ago when we played in Russia,” he told club media. “I hope we get good results there because we have a good team. We play in a difficult group, so we'll see what happens. I think we have enough quality to get through the group, at least.

"It will be difficult to play the first match against Brazil. I think, if we are at our level and focused, it's going to be a good game. It's not going to be easy to play against them.”

Having joined the club in the summer and impressed so far this season, Rajković thinks his good start to life on the island has been down to the welcome he received.

"I'm happy because when I arrived here, the teammates, the players and the staff received me very well,” he continued. “Everyone is very friendly. I see that it is a very good group and I am very happy with how we are playing.”
