Pere Joan: “I still don’t believe it, going to a World Cup is what footballers aspire to”

The goalkeeper is among the 21 players selected to travel to Brazil with Spain's Under-17 squad

Goalkeeper Pere Joan García has been called up to represent Spain at the Under-17s World Cup in Brazil later this month.

The Juvenile DH prospect’s impressive form over the last year booked his place among the 21 players selected to compete under manager David Gordo, with the La Roja expected to be one of the favourites for the title.

“I’m very happy to have this opportunity and to be at a World Cup,” said García. “I still don’t believe it, a World Cup is the most a player can aspire to in football. Everyone at the club has given me their congratulations following the call-up. The truth is I’m very proud to be able to go to a World Cup as a player of RCD Mallorca.”

Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Pere Joan again on his selection and we wish him success in Brazil.
