Pablo Chavarria: ‘I can contribute a lot to the team in the remaining 11 games’

The striker spoke to Play Red about the mood in the dressing room and what he can bring to the side

Pablo Chavarria believes he can make a positive impact on and off the pitch ahead of the remaining 11 games of La Liga.

The striker has made seven appearances so far this season domestically, and hopes to help the side achieve its goal for the campaign.

“We really want to be back together again,” he told Play Red. “When it’s possible and safe, we’re looking forward to working with the whole group to prepare for our return with only one objective: to stay up. It has been made very complicated by the uncertainty of not knowing when the competition could resume.

“When the break came, I was getting more minutes. I came on against Getafe with more than half an hour to go and in Eibar. After being injured for two months, joining the team was tough for me. But now I feel very good, and I think I can contribute a lot to the team in the 11 games that remain.”

With the state of alarm enforcing our stars to work from home via video calls, Chavarria believes our organisation during the crisis has ensured everyone can hit the ground running.

“The truth is that it has become very trying but the organisation of our work which the coaching staff proposed from the beginning has made everything easier and more fun,” he said. “Working in small groups via video call kept us motivated. Everyone is back in shape for training on the pitch.”
