The manager has announced his coaching team for the upcoming Segunda División season

Luis García Plaza has announced his backroom staff for the upcoming 2020/21 Segunda División campaign.

Pedro Rostoll, Raùl Gallego, Juan Miguel San Román and Félix Vicente have joined the club and will support the manager in his day-to-day work both on and off the pitch. Find out more about our latest additions with this exclusive video and detailed report below:

Assistant manager: Pedro Rostoll

Luis García Plaza’s right-hand man has worked in tandem with the boss since 2007 and has been a part of tenures at Benidorm CF, Levante UD, Getafe CF, FC Baniyas, Beijing Renhe, Villarreal CF and Al-Shabab.

“I’m in charge of controlling training sessions and ensuring everyone knows where to be and what to do. Later, in regards to the work I do away from the pitch, I oversee the group of analysts in order to have information which I filter to the boss about the opposition.”

Analyst: Raùl Gallego

Having worked with Luis García Plaza at FC Baniyas, Beijing Renhe and Al-Shabab, Gallego will oversee the analysis at the club and assist within the coaching team.

“My primary role is to analyse the opponent, but I’m also an analyst who is like a third coach during training sessions. I try to help all my team-mates, whether it be the physical trainers, the boss or the assistant manager with whatever they need.”

Goalkeeper coach: Juan Miguel San Román

Juan Miguel San Román is our new goalkeeper coach having previously worked with Luis García Plaza for four seasons at Getafe CF in addition to prior experience at Deportivo Alavés. The latest addition will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and training of our shot stoppers.

“I always say that we're like a team within another team. Our job is form a group between ourselves and when the day comes that RCD Mallorca has a game, whoever wears the No.1 shirt and is handed the gloves, we have to make sure he is perfectly prepared mentally, physically and technically.”

Head of Fitness: Félix Vicente

Having played under Luis García Plaza as a boy when the boss had his first foray into coaching as a youth player, the pair later worked professionally at Levante UD and Al-Shabab.

“My main role is to prepare the footballers and to be in charge of the training, and from there, to work at a collective and individual level to ensure our footballers are in the best condition possible for every training session and competitive game.”
