Match report: UE Alcúdia 0-0 RCD Mallorca B

Luka Romero’s missed penalty is the closest we would come to breaking the deadlock away from home

RCD Mallorca B were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw at UE Alcúdia on Matchday 15 of the Tercera División.

With new January signing Quiros handed his first in red and black, we were unlucky not to have taken an early lead in the opening exchanges when Makate was unable to get a follow-up attempt on target after Adrián Montalbán strike had been deflected.

Our dominance was rewarded with a penalty on the stroke of half-time when Miquel was fouled in the box following a marauding run forward. Luka Romero was handed spot-kick responsibilities, although a fine save from Nico Fernandez saw us head into the dressing room with matters level come the break.

We struggled to rediscover our control of the fixture upon the restart and were restricted to half chances courtesy on behalf of Alberto Salido and Pablo Gálvez.

Leo Román was called into the action shortly after the hour-mark to deny Cristian’s header with a close-range stop, but it was the goalkeeper’s opposite number who made arguably the closing period’s most important intervention when he managed to prevent Javier Llabrés from scoring a late winner and ensure the points were shared.
