Goals from Mario, Elías, Albín and Diabate saw RCD Mallorca B overcome UE Alcudia 4-1 at Son Bibiloni as our run of consecutive victories extended to three games.
Julián Robles made four changes to his side as Miguel, Marc Carmona, Gálvez y Alberto replaced Fran González, Luka Romero, Bryan Reyna and Iván Bravo.
With the likes of sporting director Pablo Ortells watching on from the stands, we dominated the opening exchanges despite enjoying little clarity in the final third. The game’s rhythm meant we had to wait until the 32nd minute before Alberto was able to find space and get a shot away at goal which required Nico to make a good save, although it proved to be the closest we would come to an opener in the first half.
The visitors punished our slow start after the break as Mario gave the visitors the lead when he managed to find the bottom from inside the box. The advantage wouldn’t last long however, as we hit back 10 minutes later when Albin teed up Gálvez who made no mistake from inside the box.
Substitute Elías scored his first goal for RCD Mallorca B having impressed in the lower youth categories last season to swing the fixture in our favour when he headed home Ivan Bravo’s cross on the 62nd minute. Albín further increased the deficit just three minutes later when he unleashed a thumping effort from outside the box which left Nico with little chance of making a save.
Ibrahim Diabate would sign off an impressive second-half turnaround in the dying embers of the game having applied the finishing touch to yet another marauding run down the left flank from Bravo.
The victory sees us move into second place with three wins from four games as preparations now begin for a trip to Santanyi for Matchday 5.
