Match Report: RCD Mallorca B 1-0 CF Badalona Futur

Pablo Gálvez’s second-half penalty saw RCD Mallorca B overcome Badalona Futur 1-0 as we recorded our first win of the season.

Having suffered back-to-back defeats away from home in our previous two fixtures, we started the stronger side as we looked to put an end to our poor run of form against the Grupo 3 de 2ªRFEF league leaders.

The visitors took the lead in the 20th minute although the offside flag quickly cut short any celebrations.

Gálvez was inches away from giving us the lead moments before the break when Jaume Tovar teed up the forward, although the later goalscorer could only hit the bar as we headed into the dressing room deadlocked.

Following some neat interplay, Gálvez was tripped in the box and a penalty was awarded. The academy star held his nerve from the spot to give us the lead and score the only goal of the game.

We held on to ensure all three points stayed on the island despite a late surge from CF Badalona Futur as we climbed out of the relegation zone.
