Match Report: RCD Mallorca B 0-2 RCD Espanyol

We fall to defeat at Ciudad Deportivo Antonio Asensio

Goals from Roger and Luca in the first half saw us fall to a 2-0 defeat against RCD Espanyol.

Despite a promising start in front of a well attended home crowd, the visitors took the lead in the 20th minute when Roger slipped past his marker and found the back of the net. 

Not letting our heads drop after the setback, we looked to create in the final third but we’re left frustrated by RCD Espanyol’s resolute defence.

The visitors doubled their lead minutes before half-time when a quick counter attacked ended with Luca finding the top corner from the edge of the box.

We came out after the break the stronger side and managed to create a handful of half chances, the best of which forced the Catalan side’s keeper into a fine finger tip save.

The visitors struck the post later in the second half and came close to a third before full time.

Despite our best efforts to pull a goal back, we suffered defeat at home.
