We were unable to turn chances into goals as we suffered a frustrating 1-0 loss at CE Sabadell courtesy of Jaime Sánchez’s 13th minute goal.
Luis García Plaza made two changes to his side following our defeat at CD Castellón just over a week ago. Amath Ndiaye and Braian Cufré returned to the starting XI at the expense of Victor Mollejo and Murilo, while Lago Junior was included in the matchday squad for the first time since his recovery from COVID-19.
We started promisingly as Álvaro Giménez had the ball in the back of the net inside the first minute, although there was little argument over the linesman having raised his flag for offside with the forward firing hom from behind the defensive line.
In the ascendancy as our momentum continued to build with four shots registered during the opening five minutes, the hosts then took the lead against the run of play courtesy of Jaime Sánchez finding space alone in the box from a corner to volley home.

We looked a rejuvenated side during the opening exchanges of the first half as Iñigo Ruiz de Galarreta was inches away from finding the back of the net.
The midfielder tried his luck again in the 73rd minute, although Mackay made a good save to prevent our first shot on target from being an equaliser.
Half chances would follow, and despite our best efforts, we would ultimately be left frustrated as we were unable to convert our dominance into goals come the final whistle.
