Martin Valjent says the “very important game” against Villarreal CF this Sunday could be decided by our home advantage.
Looking to bounce back from a difficult defeat on the road to Real Valladolid, the defender believes support at Son Moix could be the key to registering three points.
“I believe Son Moix factors a lot,” he said at his pre-match press conference. “We have a very important match and we are motivated and excited.
“We know the division is difficult, we always want to win and we can’t lose our heads. We will host a team with one of the best attacks in La Liga. They have a lot of potential, that’s a fact and they have a great attack too, but if we play well we can get a win.”
The only player to have featured in every single minute of the campaign under Vicente Moreno, Valjent believes his good form is the result of several elements.
“It’s a pleasure to play every game and to be able to fight,” he said. “I feel confident and that’s the most important thing. It’s my first year in the premier division, it’s what I have always dreamed of so I can’t feel tired.
“Confidence, hard work and being calm - that’s the best way to improve and to stay in the division. You have to insist and persist, every game has to be played to the maximum level. I’m going to war with my team-mates. There’s a lot of quality, beautiful stadiums, great players and you have to value that to continue with RCD Mallorca in La Liga.”
