Martin Valjent and Aleksandar Trajkovski get further minutes in the UEFA Nations League

The pair were in action for their respective countries on the second matchday of the tournament

Martin Valjent played the full 90 minutes of Slovakia’s 1-1 draw with Israel in the UEFA Nations League. Michal Ďuriš gave the visitors an early lead when he struck with just 15 minutes on the clock, and despite maintain their lead for the majority of the game, a last-minute leveller from Ilay Elmkies ensured the points were shared. The result leaves Slovakia at the bottom of League B Group 2.

Last game: Georgia 1-1 North Macedonia
Date: Tuesday, 8th of September 2020
Aleksandar Trajkovski featured for 59 minutes of North Macedonia’s 1-1 draw with Georgia in the UEFA Nations League. The hosts got themselves in front courtesy of a Tornike Okriashvili penalty after just 14 minutes, but a late first-half strike from Stefan Ristovski meant the scores were level come the break. Visar Musliu’s red card with half an hour remaining meant North Macedonia would finish the game with 10 men, but the managed to ensure they left Tbilisi with an important point. One win and a draw from their opening two games leaves Trajkovski’s side with four points and top spot in League C Group 2.

Ante Budimir didn’t feature for Croatia in their 4-2 defeat to France in the UEFA Nations League. An earlier defeat to Portugal leaves Budi’s side without a win in their opening two fixtures and bottom of League A Group 3.
