Manolo Reina has overtaken Zaki Badou to become the RCD Mallorca goalkeeper to have made the most appearances as captain of the club.
The goalkeeper surpassed the legend’s 112 appearances with his 113th outing as captain of the club in the defeat at Rayo Vallecano.
Reina was awarded a commemorative graphic for his achievement by CEO of Business Alfonso Díaz and Sporting Director Pablo Ortells, before Zaki Badou himself sent a congratulatory video message which reads: "Congratulations on the record you have just achieved as captain of this great club, a team that I have had in my heart for many years.
“It was wonderful for me to be captain of RCD Mallorca for six years during which we were runners-up in the Copa del Rey. I wish you and the whole team all the best to stay up in LaLiga.”
The captain is the fourth goalkeeper to have made the most appearances for the club and currently sits behind Zaki, Leo Franco and Dudu Aouate.
