Luis García Plaza: ‘It has been a just victory, we’re doing a great job’

The manager reflected on our 2-0 victory over CD Tenerife at the Visit Mallorca Estadi and discussed the transfer market

Luis García Plaza was on post-match press conference duties following our 2-0 overcoming of CD Tenerife. Goals from Martin Valjent and Dani Rodríguez gave us a comfortable victory at the Visit Mallorca Estadi, but find out what the boss had to say about the game, the upcoming international break and the transfer market.

On the game...

“After losing on the opening day of the season, it was not easy. The team has had to re-do things. We are a very tough team and we’re doing a great job. The first half has been very good. In the second half we were missing a little. It has been a just victory.

"It's very difficult to be better than CD Tenerife for 90 minutes. We have been pressed well and sometimes it was not so easy to play as well for 90 minutes. I felt that I would have to make a change and bring on Galarreta before to have control. We go from less to more and I am satisfied with the team.

"Valjent’s goal was from a set-piece we rehearsed yesterday. The movements were what we were after and I am happy because in Segunda División you need to score from dead ball situations. Let’s see if we’re able to keep scoring goals of this kind."

On the transfer market...

“We can bring a player without anyone leaving. We have no offers for anyone other than [Ante] Budimir. If anyone else leaves, we will bring in another. One year when I was at Getafe I lost a player a few hours before the market closed. I’m relying on everyone now. The club tells me that there has not been an offer for any other player."

On the international break..

“The international break is a time for those who have not played to have an opportunity to get some minutes."
