Luis García Plaza: I’m very happy, mentally we’ve taken a step forward’

The manager spoke to the media as we secured our first win of the season against CE Sabadell

Luis García Plaza was on post-match press conference duties after we secured our first win of the season courtesy of Dani Rodríguez’s sublime strike in the 85th minute against CE Sabadell. Find out what the boss had to say about the 1-0 victory and the transfer market to journalists at the Visit Mallorca Estadi.v

On the performance..
“I am very pleased. Today I just want to be positive and congratulate the players for the effort – a lot has been asked of them. Today, we have played a Segunda División game. If you don't get ahead, it costs even more. Today, the players have to be congratulated, they deserve this joy and we’re will keep progressing. The team needed a boost. Before RCD Espanyol they showed me they could do it. Today we were missing a little from crosses. We have done well in and around the final third, but it has cost us slightly to hurt them."
On the result...
“We were just victors. It’s not easy to open up opposing teams. We needed all three points after last week's game. We must continue the dynamics of not conceding. The team has persevered. On a mental level we have taken a step forward. The team has seen that we were getting into the final third. We have got back to being a Segunda División team: to persevere and not give in - that’s the mental strength we did not have the first league match against Rayo Vallecano."
On the team...
“The team is becoming a team again. Today we had control of the game. We need to continue working to be more dangerous. Today we have not been so successful and we have to be more exact.”
On the transfer market...
“The only thing that concerns me today is Abdón and Alex Alegría. Budimir is not at 100%. The club is working on it. My reality is Abdón and Alegría.”
