Luis García Plaza: ‘I hope we can extend our unbeaten run against Real Zaragoza’

The manager previewed our clash with Los Maños on Matchday 10 of the Segunda División

Luis García Plaza says his team must be at their best to extend our unbeaten run to nine games against Real Zaragoza on Sunday afternoon.

A hectic October fixture schedule has seen us chalk up consecutive victories over the past week, but the boss expects Los Maños to be a stern test.

"Zaragoza is a very good team and I think it is a team which will in the end be much higher up at the end,” he told journalists at a remote press conference. “It's a dangerous team. We need to put a lot of importance of this fixture and know that we can't lower the bar.

“There have been lots of games few days, and mental fatigue is also an important factor, but hopefully tomorrow we will be at our best, because we will have to be. The day we are not at our best will be difficult to get positive results.”

While we extended our unbeaten run to eight games with a 3-1 win over Málaga on Matchday 9, the boss was impressed with how we reacted to a run of seven consecutive games without conceding ending.

“I liked that when we received the goal against Malaga, the team got forward and advanced its lines," he continued."Beyond conceding and breaking the run, the important thing was to win and add points.

“Let’s hope that we go a long time without losing because that means we will be near the top. There are many incentives to out there tomorrow at 100%. Going eight games without losing is not easy, you have to do things very well to achieve that.”
