Juan Domínguez: “the key is to be optimist, we only consider winning”

The centrehalf hails teamplay but remember that "it is the goal the only thing that counts"

Juan Dominguez has met the press after the morning session and has admitted the team "is not happy with the latest results, and people are being too harsh with us. Despite that, we have to evaluate ourselves and we know we can do better. Possession does not count when you do not win. We need to take three points and we will work hard for it".

The midfielder in this light continued analyzing the teamplay and has said that "to me we defend well, play the ball from the back pretty well and do things better than rivals. But in football what counts is to score. We have got to improve on that. The positive thing is that the problem is not an organization-linked one, neither is a lack of ideas, effort or commitment. We just need accuracy."

The Galician opines that the lack of accuracy "is something that can be worked on, but at this stages it is something that normally is not easy to improve as other parts of our game". He is confident that the team record betters as the season goes by, "it is just a bad run. In my career, seldom I have seen teams play as good as us. We boss rivals but it is weird we do not clinch the three points at stake. I am sure that from the time we start scoring, the dynamics will change and everyone will take things from a different perspective."

Dominguez said the team is not worried by the current position occupied in the table, "it is early days". Although they hate seeing themselves right at the bottom, "we have got to change that, let us keep calm and keep doing things properly. I am sure that things will change for the good. Being nervous does not benefit anybody. Obsessing is not the way forward out of it. Victories will come our way".

Lastly, the player pointed out that they do not have to think about the next rival, Girona, who might come in an offensive or defensive plan, but rather "let us think about ourselves. If we speculate we enter the danger zone. If we do things in the right direction, following Vazquez's commandments, the game will be ours. The key is to stay positive, we have got to think that defeat is not a possibility. Forget the past, ignore the table and the goal drought. Focus on the match."
