Javier Aguirre: “We leave hurt, but we are satisfied because we did an honourable job”

The boss gave his thoughts on our 1-0 defeat to FC Barcelona

Javier Aguirre gave his thoughts on our 1-0 defeat to FC Barcelona. Robert Lewandowski’s first-half goal was the difference on the night. Find out what he had to say below:

On the match...

"It's obviously not easy to get a grip on FC Barcelona. They are a very solid team defensively. We tried, with our limitations, to stand up to them. In the end, we leave hurt but satisfied because we did an honest and honourable job.”

On Kang in Lee's chance...

"If the ball doesn't go in, you can't do much. I'm happy for the people, for the relationship with the fans. Despite the defeat, they supported us until the end and that is very valuable. The players feel it, they appreciate it. If Kang's goal had gone in, we would have been less angry, but playing with Barça is very complicated, I've known that for 15 years.”

On his players...

"What comes to me now is to congratulate the players for the effort."
