Javier Aguirre: “We hope to play well in the knock outs"

The boss spoke to the press ahead of our Copa del Rey clash with Real Unión Club Irún

Javier Aguirre spoke to the media for the first time since our mid-season break ahead of our Copa del Rey clash with Real Unión Club Irún.

We head into the cup game with a clean bill of health following the break and our boss is feeling confident ahead of the trip to Stadium Gal.

"We are already looking forward to competing,” Aguirre told journalists at his press conference. “It's true that the days off were good for all of us, but it's also true that it's hard to get back into the game. We've had three preparation matches and we've arrived well, all healthy, all strong and eager to play a good tie tomorrow.

"We have 23 players, and all of them have played with me. These preparation matches have helped me to see those who have played less minutes in La Liga and I have seen that they are all capable. Tomorrow we will use the best players for this match.

"I can already count on Tino Kadewere. I am happy. He had an unfortunate injury on his arrival. The injury room is already empty because Maffeo, Greiff, Amath are fine. We are healthy, strong and well.”
