Javier Aguirre expects a physical challenge this weekend as we host Getafe on Sunday evening.
As we look to build on our win against Real Valladolid away from home, the boss believes his side must be at their best to get anything out of our next fixture.
“Getafe plays well. Quique is a great coach with a lot of experience,” Aguirre told journalists. “He has built the team in his own way and with the players he wanted. They are a very strong team, who have beaten us twice (this year and last year).
"We are going to play a very physical and strong game tomorrow. Let's see if we are able to win the match and reach that number. Whatever happens tomorrow, there will still be eight games left, 24 points. And there's a lot of work to do," he said.
"The team is in good shape. We have never lost the rhythm of training and matches. We continue in the line of competing each one as if it were the last one". It is true that victories always take away a bit of anxiety. There was a reward for the work we had been doing for weeks."
Regarding the absentees for this Sunday's match, Aguirre revealed that he will not be able to count on three players.
"Nastasic will not be here, neither will Augustinsson or Gio. Those three won't be here for sure. In fact, two players from the reserve team are coming: Gayà and Benjamín Garay. Raíllo is in, but he's not. We will try to bring him out for the match. Dani has already been released. So we have three players out for sure," said the coach.”
