Jaume Costa, Pablo Maffeo, Iddrisu Baba and Braian Cufré reflect on our defeat to FC Barcelona

The four discuss our 1-0 loss to FC Barcelona

Jaume Costa, Pablo Maffeo, Iddrisu Baba and Braian Cufré discuss our 1-0 defeat to FC Barcelona. Robert Lewandowski’s first-half goal was the difference on the night. Find out what the four had to say below:

Jaume Costa

"That's what goalkeepers are there for, to stop them in difficult moments. It's true that I arrived well, the ball came to me and I tried to make sure but the goalkeeper stopped it. That's all there is to it, we have to keep going. Unfortunately, we created a lot of chances, but we didn't score a goal. I think that with the great game we played, we deserved more.

"We leave with a bittersweet feeling because competing as we did against one of the best teams in the world and having so many clear chances, that unfortunately we didn't manage to put them away, it leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth. But we know what these teams are like, they come at you once and score a goal.”

Pablo Maffeo

"Yes, it is unfair. I think that if we had been more convincing in both areas, it would have been different. But we have to be satisfied with the way the team competed. We can look at each other's faces in the locker room and I think that's very important.

"From my side, thank you very much [to the fans] for everything. I think if the fans, who are demanding fans, show you that at the end of the game, it's because we've done something right."

Idrissu Baba

"Personally, I am very happy. As for the team, we defended well and competed well. But it's true that we didn't score any goals at home, but overall I think we fought well. Now let's think about the next game."

Braian Cufré

"Happy to play my first game this season, but it is also frustrating because I also think we deserved a draw. We had several situations to be able to level, but well, we have to work and continue planning the week for the next match.

"I was calm because that's why I train 100 per cent every week. I knew that the opportunity could come, although it wasn't in the best way because of Jaume, but I felt physically and mentally prepared, and I took advantage of the opportunity."
