Jagoba Arrasate is announced as our new head coach

Our new boss has signed a three-year contract until June 30 2027

We are delighted to welcome Jagoba Arrasate as the new RCD Mallorca head coach.

The Basque manager has signed a contract that will keep him at the club until June 30, 2027.

Arrasate arrives on the island after a successful six-year spell at CA Osasuna where he managed to get the side promoted to LaLiga in his first season.

Our new manager later qualified for the UEFA Conference League as well as reaching the Copa del Rey final in 2023 and Supercopa de España the year after.

Prior to CA Osasuna, Arrasate managed at Numancia and Real Sociedad and has become one of the most exciting managers in the country.

On behalf of everyone at the club, we wish Arrasate the best of luck on his time on the island.

Arrasate quotes:

"I think for all coaches we are about challenges and projects. It is something we say a lot but it is not easy to find in professional football. After this wonderful time I have had at Osasuna, for which I am very grateful to all the people of Pamplona for, we are now undertaking another challenge, another project and I am very excited because that is what a coach wants: to build something.

"I believe that Mallorca is an emerging club and the last few years prove it above all because the club offers me confidence and a project. I believe that when I have had the chance to be with the club, in the end what a coach likes is to feel loved and they have transmitted me that interest and that vision as well. The timing is very important because I believe that three years gives me a margin to be able to build on something that I have been able to inherit which is very good. I am not going to deceive you either, family is very important to me and we also understand that the family is going to be fine in Mallorca.

"I'm kind of liberated. It is not easy, at first, to give that news. Then to live with that news and then to make it official where you are going to go. Once those times or that process happens, you feel liberated and eager to get started. I'm fully involved in the pre-season and planning, and when a coach is immersed in these things, he gets excited again very quickly.

"The first thing is to value the work of the last few years – in this case, Javier Aguirre's work. I believe he inherited a consolidated team that had experience in LaLiga for a few years. What I want to contribute is a bit of my own nuance and my idea of how I see football. I believe that we will not lack any excitement. I want a recognisable team. In the previous years I have been able to achieve this and the idea is to do the same here in Mallorca. This is a team that is already consolidated and that is already good. We will try to take it to higher quotas and while knowing that it is difficult, that is the motivation we are going to have."
