Antonio Raíllo returns to training

The defender is back to work having undergone ankle surgery last year

Antonio Raíllo has returned to training following ankle surgery undertaken in October.

The defender will join his team-mates in full training shortly, and says he cannot wait to get back to work.

"I am feeling good,” he said. “After so much time lost and the recovery, now I am happy and feeling positive.

"I would come back now if I could. I would like to come back, but the decision depends on the medical team and the physical trainer. The idea is that by the end of this week or early next week I will start working with the group.”

"After the operation and a month to recover, I gradually began to work in the pool and in rehabilitation, but my goal was clear. When you set a goal, everything is easier.  I am already close to returning.

Having made just one appearance this season, the defender believes he can bring a much-needed boost to the team.

"I am excited,” he continued. “Now that I am back, I am coming back with that excitement, the one you have as a little kid doing what you love. That enthusiasm can be contagious in the group.

"Any game is a good time to come back. After such a long time, if you put me in a friendly match, I would be just as happy.”
